Into the Ocean
04:15
|
|||
Shadows lay across the sand
With the moon as a spotlight
The whisper of the waves
Feels like a lullaby
But the heat is beginning to rise
The captain is setting sail
We're running out of time
This is your chance
So just jump right in
The water is fine
Tomorrow, this place will be flooded
Blocking the growth of flowers
The crowds melt into intimacy
After a few hours
Don't you see that little star
Hiding in the corner of the sky
Waiting to break out its shell
Like the crabs beneath our feet
Let's break out our own
And just jump right in
The water is fine
Though it may be easy to get
Lost in the current
Just remember that the waves
Will always lead you back to shore
So why wouldn't you
Just jump right in
The water is fine
So just dive in
Into the ocean
There's nothing here that would
Hurt you

I remember looking up at the keys
And wondering if I'd ever get that tall
The way they ruled the room with ease
They ended up taped to my wall
The next day I found all their songs but
There's something about being there
How electric it feels when they shake you
At the soul, it made me want
To be back near the stage
Where the lightning strikes most often
With the wave of arms and singing voices
There's no better time to join in for once
Now it's what I look forward to the most
My own path began with a bang
Maybe three or maybe four
I was fine playing to myself
As a way to keep my feet on the floor
But then the notes felt different
Hearing orchestras wherever I went
And seeing more often than hearing
So soon I started to imagine
Myself up on the stage
Here I can be what i want
Playing to a crowd that fills the room
Until we all shed our costumes
Then we can all light up and blow off the roof
I just hope that this will not
Stay as only
A fantasy

Attached to the Memory
03:59
|
|||
The crackle and the flame
Give warmth on these colder nights
But it's the smell that warms me the most
Rebuilding a house that had fallen apart
Piece by piece the scene comes back together
Of the days by the lake
With those who formed my first two feet
Canoeing on the water
Barely holding my oar
But when you're young
You can just focus on riding the waves
Whether that's watching the fireworks
Or just enjoying the heat
It's a home away from home
Where we can all be as one
An escape to the outdoors
And a change of pace is always welcome
I don't know when I'll be back but
Fires are forever attached to the memory
So while I may be hundreds of miles away
I'll be able to return when I want

Rainbow Safari
03:44
|
|||
On a chair made for two
Where I've never felt more comfortable
We finally get to have a moment to ourselves
There's a glimmer in our eyes
And with the doves on the horizon
This is a moment we'd want to save
On our way around a rainbow safari
At its peak, you can see
Whatever you could want to see
Even if heights are a fear
You never get that view otherwise
So try not to look down when you go around
It's the only loop that cannot get old
I wish we could be
At the top forever
But that's not always in our control
We can still see so much
One level lower anyway
Now that we're on the way down
It actually may be good to be back
It will make those views
At the top feel like
Running on rooftops of a busy city

Elevated
05:50
|
|||
Sitting on a throne
Elevated into the sky
Watching as the ants go by
If only they could stop for a second
Or else they just might miss this
And yes it, may go great in a frame
But the flame doesn't burn the same
Orange and purple paint over blue
Like Picasso on a canvas
Creating a scene brand new
There's only so much time
Before the colors fade to black
So just slow down and ease back
And let the rest fall right through the cracks
Those things are still on track
When the bright light burns out
The ashes blow away in the breeze
That's when new sparks begin to form
And we enter another layer of the dream
Now that everyone is here
The green flag grazes the scene
Fill your spirits to the brim
Until wolves howl and sing
When all we've been able to do
Is talk through screens and sends
It feels good to be back
In one spot, living
Together, again
Together, again
Together, again
Again
Surrounded by the new and old
This is what we are here for
No matter where you were before
Now you're floating, more and more and more
